This model prioritises quantity over quality. Recruiters are incentivised to send CVs quickly, not to run a thorough or inclusive process. It can damage the candidate experience and harm your employer brand.
Why do employers still use it? Often, because they’re already running their own process and want a few extra CVs. It feels low-risk since fees only apply if a candidate is hired. Even if only a couple of roles get filled, the fees can be spread across several vacancies, making it appear acceptable. But the truth is, it rarely delivers long-term value.
